Srinagar, July 10 -- According to an official statement, Muzamil Salam, posted as Patwari of Patwar Halqa Pogal Paristan, was caught red-handed while receiving the bribe from a complainant who had applied for rectification of his father's name in the land records maintained by the Tehsildar's office in Ukhral.

"The complainant had approached the ACB, stating that despite directions from the Tehsildar, the concerned Patwari demanded Rs.20,000 to make the correction. After negotiations, the amount was reduced to Rs.2,500," the ACB said in its statement.

Acting on the complaint, ACB Doda registered FIR No. 03/2025 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018), and launched an investigation.
