SRINAGAR, Feb. 2 -- With the embrace of snowfall in Kashmir, southern areas witnessed bone-chilling temperatures plummeting to minus 17 degrees Celsius.

While Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, marked a low of minus 0.3 degrees Celsius, Jammu recorded a comparatively milder temperature of 5.7 degrees Celsius.

Larnoo in South Kashmir's Kokernag took the lead as the coldest area at -17.7degC, closely followed by Sonamarg at -15.1degC.

As per data shared by Kashmir Weather, the renowned ski resort of Gulmarg experienced a low of minus 12.0 degrees Celsius, and Pahalgam recorded minus 11.9 degrees Celsius.

Anantnag in South Kashmir reported a low of minus 8.5degC, while Baramulla in the north had minus -1.5degC.
