Srinagar, Oct. 8 -- The incarcerated Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has refused to meet the party leaders fearing that the gesture might be "projected as a sign of normalcy" by the central government.
Hours after 18-member National Conference delegation met Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, authorities granted permission to the PDP leaders from Jammu to meet Mehbooba Mufti at Cheshmashahi sub-jail.
PDP leaders,however, deferred the meeting after Mehbooba turned down the request.
