Srinagar, Aug. 10 -- Security has been beefed up across Kashmir to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Independence Day.

Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, VK. Birdi chaired a security review meeting at the Police Control Room to review the overall security scenario and arrangements regarding the celebration of Independence Day and the TirangaRally.

At the outset of the meeting, IGP Kashmir sought reports from the officers about security arrangements and deployment plans put in place for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the events.
