Nigeria, Oct. 18 -- The former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, has said that President Bola Tinubu does not need to campaign for the 2027 elections in the state, as he believed Kogi is a stronghold of the ruling party, and that the president enjoys overwhelming support among the people.

Speaking on Saturday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Kogi, Bello said the party has no opposition in the north-central state.

"Your excellency, Mr president, you don't even need to come to Kogi state to campaign in 2027. Don't do any wahala [trouble] that you want to come to Kogi state to campaign for a second term. There is no opposition in Kogi state," Bello said.
