Nigeria, Feb. 4 -- The Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum, has threatened to revoke lands from any bank that refuses to dispense new naira notes for the people of the state.

The Governor said the state government would revoke lands from any bank that refuses to release new naira notes to the people of his state.

The Governor made this warning known in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno capital, during his visit to branches of banks to examine people's access to new naira notes.

"Any bank in Borno state that is not willing to ensure their ATMs are fully dispensing new naira notes to ease the suffering of our people, we will withdraw their land title immediately," Zulum said.
