Nigeria, Aug. 26 -- In a significant move to bolster local processing and enhance the shea industry, President Bola Tinubu has announced a temporary ban on the export of raw shea nuts, effective immediately.

This directive aims to encourage the utilization of local resources and improve the economic prospects for local stakeholders.

Mr. Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President, confirmed the decision in a statement issued on Tuesday from Abuja.
