Nigeria, May 30 -- In response to the devastating flood incident in Mokwa, Niger State, which has resulted in the loss of 25 lives and the displacement of numerous families, Nigerian President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and security agencies to step up ongoing rescue and relief operations.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, conveyed that the president has been "fully briefed" on the tragedy and expressed deep concern over the casualties and property damage.
