Nigeria, July 18 -- President Bola Tinubu paid a touching tribute to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari during a special federal executive council (FEC) meeting held in his honor. Buhari, who passed away on Sunday in a London clinic after a prolonged illness, was laid to rest at his home in Daura, Katsina state, on Tuesday.
In his remarks, Tinubu emphasized Buhari's exemplary character, stating, "His record will be debated, as all legacies are, but the character he brought to public life, the moral force he carried, and the incorruptible standard he represented will not be forgotten."
He regarded Buhari as "first among soldiers in war, first among citizens in peace," recognizing his profound dedication to the nation.
