Nigeria, March 5 -- The Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has announced that shortlisted candidates in its ongoing recruitment process will undergo a mandatory drug test at the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) before receiving their job offers.

TESCOM Chairman, Mallam Bello Taoheed, disclosed this on Tuesday while providing updates on the recruitment process, which attracted 5,290 applicants.

He noted that 4,163 candidates successfully completed the interview stage, competing for 1,800 available positions.

"The difference in the two figures comes from applicants who did not turn up for the interview or did not meet the well-stated criteria for the screening," he explained.
