Nigeria, Feb. 2 -- A Sharia Court sitting in Katagum, Bauchi State, has sentenced Ibrahim Umar, popularly known as Maidada, to life imprisonment for the killing of two men whose bodies he buried in a forest grave.
The court found Umar guilty of murdering Kabiru Idi and Muhammad Bello in Taranka Forest, where he reportedly dug a grave and buried the victims after killing them.
Prosecuting counsel, Barrister Muhammad Ali, told the court that the defendant admitted to the crime from the beginning of the trial and willingly accepted the judgment of the court.
