Nigeria, June 30 -- Suspected armed bandits on Monday launched coordinated attacks on three villages in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, overrunning Gada, Lata Woro, and Kokodoko communities and leaving several residents and local vigilantes injured.
The attacks reportedly began around 4 p.m., with Gada village, located along the Lafiagi-Patigi highway, overrun by the armed assailants, who arrived in large numbers and wielded sophisticated firearms.
The assault left several vigilantes injured, although no fatalities have been confirmed as of press time.
Sources told The Informant247 that the bandits fired sporadically upon arrival, causing widespread panic among residents.
