Nigeria, May 6 -- In a decisive move, the Senate has set up a committee to oversee the implementation of emergency rule in Rivers State following the suspension of the democratic government. This action follows President Bola Tinubu's announcement on March 18, 2025, declaring a state of emergency and appointing Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas (retd) as the Sole Administrator for a period of six months.
