Nigeria, March 19 -- Tension erupted in Ondo State on Wednesday as angry protesters stormed the governor's office in Alagbaka, Akure, carrying the bodies of five farmers killed by suspected armed herdsmen.
The victims were reportedly shot dead earlier in the morning at Aba Oyinbo, Akure North Local Government Area. The attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents in the state, following a deadly reprisal attack on four communities in Akure North earlier this month.
The grieving protesters, demanding justice, blocked the Akure-Owo highway at Ogbese, leaving motorists stranded for hours.
