Nigeria, Feb. 25 -- No fewer than 5,928 applicants have been invited by the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) for the interview stage in the ongoing senior school teachers' recruitment exercise to fill 1,800 vacant positions.
It would be recalled that the TESCOM chairman, Mallam Bello Taoheed, while giving a breakdown of the cutoff for successful applicants on Monday, said that indigenes who applied to teach non-STEM subjects are 60% - except for candidates from Baruten, Isin, Oke Ero, and Patigi whose cutoff is generally pegged at 50% to harvest as many applicants as are required in the areas.
