Nigeria, April 15 -- Nigerians are set to experience a nationwide blackout following the decision of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) to withdraw its service if the Nigerian Government fails to rescind the recently approved electricity tariff hike.

According to Dominic Igwebike, the acting General Secretary of NUEE, in a statement addressed to the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, said if nothing were done about the withdrawal of the tariff, its members would take decisive action.

It would be recalled that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission had on April 3 increased the electricity tariff for band A customers getting 20 hours of power supply daily.
