Nigeria, May 7 -- In a groundbreaking development for energy reform, the Kwara State House of Assembly has introduced the Kwara State Electric Power Sector Bill, 2025, spearheaded by Nigeria's youngest lawmaker, Hon. Rukayat Motunrayo Shittu.

The bill, which successfully passed its first reading during Tuesday's session, aims to repeal the Electricity Board Laws of 1992 and 2006, establishing a new legal framework for electricity generation and distribution in Kwara State.
