Ngeria, Oct. 8 -- A lifeless body of a mentally challenged man has been recovered by the operatives of the Kwara State Fire Service on Wednesday, at Asa river along Emir's road, Ilorin.

According to reports, the incident occurred at about 11:06 am, causing palpable fears among the residents living at the area.

The spokesperson of the Kwara State Fire Service Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, while confirming the development in a statement, said the cause of the drowning could not be immediately ascertained.

"The recovered body was later handed over to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, for further necessary action," the statement said
