Nigeria, Sept. 15 -- In alarming reports from Zamfara state, armed bandits have abducted more than 50 individuals in a series of separate assaults.

On Monday morning, approximately 40 worshippers were taken during dawn prayers at a mosque in Gidan Turbe village, Tsafe LGA. According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication, the gunmen stormed the mosque around 5:30 am, surrounding the premises and seizing worshippers at gunpoint.

The assailants are believed to have moved their captives into the nearby forests around the Gohori axis in Tsafe, leaving the rural community in confusion and despair.
