Nigeria, Jan. 31 -- Residents of the Lafiagi community in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State have decried the absence of basic amenities such as electricity, good roads, and access to potable water, among other facilities that could enhance their quality of life.

In a letter signed by a resident, Manzuma Aliyu Koguna, he appealed to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to address the critical challenges affecting their daily lives, describing the situation as a grim picture of the hardships faced by residents.

He added that women and children, in particular, bear the brunt of the water crisis, as they are forced to wake up at midnight in search of water due to the absence of a functional water supply system.
