Nigeria, March 23 -- The Kwara State House of Assembly leader during the Second Republic and a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Stephen Wole-Oke, has passed away.

It was gathered that the septuagenarian, fondly known as the Jagunmolu of Shao, died in the early hours of Sunday.

Meanwhile, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Chief Wole-Oke as a "fine progressive" towering figure in politics and community leadership.
