Nigeria, May 7 -- The Kwara State Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has alerted farmers in the state to be prepared for a series of thunderstorms forecasted by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), which are expected across various parts of the state from Tuesday to Thursday, particularly during the afternoon and evening.

According to a statement by the Press Secretary of the Ministry, Ashaolu Omotola, farmers are advised to take necessary precautions, as strong winds may precede the rains, adding that they should limit activities in open fields during lightning storms and ensure that electrical appliances are disconnected when not in use.
