Nigeria, Nov. 10 -- The member representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, has officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Jibrin's defection came two months after his expulsion from the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) over alleged anti-party activities and non-payment of membership dues.

Jibrin had been silent about his political future. However, his close relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had fueled speculation that he might align with the APC.
