Nigeria, Oct. 7 -- The outgoing Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the outgoing on Tuesday, officially handed over the leadership of the commission to Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu, who will serve as acting chairman.
It was gathered that the the handover took place during an ongoing meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) at the INEC headquarters in Abuja, where Agbamuche-Mbu, the oldest serving National Commissioner at INEC, will oversee the affairs of the electoral body pending the appointment of a substantive chairman of the electoral umpire.
