Nigeria, Jan. 2 -- Caleb Mutfwang, the Plateau State Governor, on Friday, officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), days after he resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mutfwang, while receiving his APC membership card at a stakeholders' meeting in Jos, the Plateau State capital, marking a major shift in the state's political alignment, said his decision was driven by the need for purposeful leadership and clarity of direction, as well as the desire to align Plateau State more closely with the policies and programmes of the federal government to accelerate development and improve service delivery.
