Nigeria, Dec. 8 -- A member of the kidnapping syndicate has been arrested in Oro-Ago in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara state, in a successful coordinated security operation to decimate the activities of resurgent banditry in the state.

The development was recorded days after the arrest of arms courier and recovery of 100 rounds of live ammunition along Gbugbu/Patigi road on Friday.

It was gathered that the operatives of Kwara state Police Command, on Friday 3rd December, acting on actionable intelligence from Oro-Ago community, apprehended one Aliu Abubakar at Oro-Ago Motor Park, hours after the arrest of a medical Doctor by the DSS supplying medication and drugs to kidnapping gangs in Kwara.
