Nigeria, Feb. 15 -- The Federal Government, alongside the 36 governors at an emergency meeting, are said to be considering the creation of state police.

The Informant247 reports that President Bola Tinubu and state governors, on Thursday, convened an emergency meeting at the Aso Rock Villa over the state of the nation.

The meeting follows the recent hike in food prices, economic hardship, and pockets of insecurity recorded nationwide.

Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, while addressing State House correspondents after the meeting, explained that the process is still in its infancy and would only take shape after more deliberations between stakeholders.
