Nigeria, March 23 -- No fewer than three suspected kidnappers have been apprehended by the operatives of the Imo state police command over the abduction of one Sabinus Ibe, a 48-year-old resident of Owerri, the state capital.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the spokesperson of the command, Henry Okoye, the suspects were apprehended on March 18 "following investigation and strategic operations led by the Commander of Anti-kidnapping Unit, Owerri".

The suspects, identified as Favour Dike 22; Ifeanyi Kingsley, 30; and Wisdom Chikodi, 31, demanded and received payment for ransom after abducting Ibe.
