Nigeria, June 5 -- In a shocking incident, gunmen have reportedly killed two mobile police officers and abducted two workers-a Chinese national and a Nigerian-at a mining site in Oreke-Oke-Igbo community, located in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The attack, which occurred on Wednesday, has caused widespread panic in the community as the armed assailants stormed the facility, opening fire on the security personnel before fleeing with their rifles.
SP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, while confirming the incident in a statement on Thursday, disclosed that the command has launched an immediate manhunt to track down the criminals and rescue the victims.
