Nigeria, March 19 -- The Kwara State Fire Service has said it has contained a fire outbreak at Ile-Lodo Compound, Ikun Road, Etan Town, Ekiti Local Government Area of the State.
The incident, which happened on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 4 am., was reported to have been caused by a power surge
In a statement by the spokesperson of the Service, Hassan Adekunle said that the firefighters, while responding promptly to a distress call, met a fire engulfed in a shop in front of a 13-room residential building.
Adekunle said the devastating fire was contained by the men of the fire service after a rigorous effort to prevent it from spreading further.
