Nigeria, March 6 -- A fire outbreak on Wednesday afternoon engulfed parts of a 20-room building in Ilorin, Kwara State, but the swift response of firefighters helped prevent further destruction.

The incident happened around 1:53 pm at No. 90 Koro Compound, Oke-Apomu quarters, Ilorin. According to the Kwara State Fire Service, the fire started due to an unattended gas cooker left burning in one of the rooms.

Firefighters arrived quickly at the scene and found the fire spreading rapidly through the building.

Despite the intensity of the flames, they managed to contain the fire and successfully saved 13 out of the 20 rooms. However, seven rooms were affected by the inferno.
