Nigeria, March 7 -- Dr Doyin Okupe, the ex-presidential spokesperson to former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, has been reported dead

Okupe, a native of Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government area of Ogun State, was said to have died in the early hours of Friday in Lagos at the age of 72 after being sick for some time.

The Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, Jamiu Ashimi, while confirming the demise of the medical doctor turned politician to newsmen on Friday, said, "I just confirmed the tragic news of the passing of Dr Doyin Okupe. May his soul rest in peace".
