Nigeria, Sept. 1 -- General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has hailed the conviction of Simon Ekpa by a Finnish court, asserting that the ruling reinforces the accountability of those who incite violence and fund terrorism, regardless of their geographical position.

On Monday, the Paijat-Hame District Court sentenced Ekpa to six years in prison for terrorism-related offenses.

In response to the judgment, Musa stated, "This ruling is a landmark victory in the global effort to combat terrorism and violent extremism, affirming that no individual or group sponsoring terrorism against Nigeria will find a haven."
