Nigeria, Oct. 6 -- The Federal High Court in Abuja has been asked to restrain any attempt by the former President Goodluck Jonathan for contesting the 2027 presidential election.
The request, which forms part of the reliefs being sought in suit, marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/2102/ 2025, filed by a lawyer, Johnmary Jideobi, prayed the court to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from accepting or publishing Jonathan's name as a duly nominated candidate of any political party for the purpose of contesting the next presidential election.
Listed defendants in the suit are Jonathan, INEC, and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF).
