Nigeria, July 2 -- In a significant move, members of the opposition coalition convened at the Yar'Dua Centre in Abuja, rallying under the banner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The gathering included prominent figures such as Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party's 2023 presidential candidate, and his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi, along with former governors Malam Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi.

Also present were David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola, who recently took on roles as interim national chairman and national secretary of the ADC after resigning from their previous party affiliations. Their leadership is poised to direct the coalition's strategy as they prepare for the 2027 general elections.
