Nigeria, Aug. 29 -- In a remarkable display of coordinated efforts, more than 115 kidnapped victims have been rescued in just one week in an operations led by the Defence Headquarters.

The rescues occurred between August 21 and 27, 2025, across several states, including Borno, Yobe, Katsina, Kaduna, and others, as well as the Federal Capital Territory.

Major General Markus Kangye, the Director of Defence Media Operations, announced on Friday that the largest rescue was in Katsina State, where 76 victims were freed following targeted bombings of terrorist hideouts in Kankara Local Government Area.
