Nigeria, March 25 -- A Senate committee hearing became heated as former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, and Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi engaged in a verbal exchange over a petition submitted by Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The confrontation happened during a session of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, where petitioner Zubairu Yakubu presented fresh allegations on behalf of Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Tensions rose when Yakubu tried to speak while the committee chairman, Neda Imaseun, was addressing the panel.
He was immediately asked to remain silent and turn off his microphone.
