Bangladesh, Jan. 19 -- Incidence of rape including child rape has increased in the country in recent times. This is a shocking and shameful situation. Many rape incidents remain unreported as well. The incident of rape of a University of Dhaka student in Kurmitola area in the Dhaka city is one of the incidents that jolted public opinion. We hope the government would act promptly and take some steps to address this situation. Our social leaders too need to raise voice to stop rape and ensure safety of women and children in society.
