Bangladesh, Jan. 9 -- A six-day long eye camp against blindness and related disease was held in Gaibandha district recently.

Organised by King Salman Himanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), the second of its kind in Bangladesh, some 6,700 patients were examined of whom 2,747 were male and 3953 female in the camp.

A group of specialist doctors performed 717 eye surgeries (331 males and 386 females) and provided 2971 glasses,7,364 ampoules of eye drop and other required medicines to the patients, according to a statement.

During the entire period of the camp, high officials of Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Dhaka were present.
