Bangladesh, Nov. 10 -- A couple was arrested from Kalaiupazila in northern district of Joypurhat on November 06, allegedly for selling kidney. A Bangla daily reported that brokers were active in persuading the poor to sell their kidneys and other important organs of the body. It is understandable that awareness campaign in this regard failed to bring good results as brokers managed to convince quite a number of people to sell their kidneys.
So, it is essential to stop all brokers through proper actions by law enforcement authorities and monitor if any quarters in hospitals are engaged in removing organs from human bodies unlawfully. At the same time, poverty and illiteracy should addressed so that the people understand value of good health...
