Bangladesh, Feb. 21 -- Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) has got approval of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to rehabilitate a total of 518 families living in the areas of Mirsharai Economic Zone and Sonadia Ecotourism Park.

The families will be relocated to a newly developed residential area with all required facilities and utility services. The rehabilitation will cost a total of Tk 300 million, according to BEZA sources.

The BEZA has so far acquired 33,450 acres of khas land and 4,719 acres of private land for developing 21 economic zones (EZs). Another 30,000 acres of land is under process of acquisition.

Of the total land acquired so far and to be acquired, 30,000 acres are in Mirsharai and 10,000 acres in Sonadia.
