Dhaka, July 14 -- People in the capital and some places in the country are witnessing excruciating hot weather as a mild heat wave is sweeping over different divisions and districts which may continue, according to a Met office bulletin.

Afruza Sultana, an assistant meteorologist at Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), said a mild heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Nilphamari which is likely to continue.

The heat wave may prevail in the next two days until Saturday starting from Thursday morning, she told The Financial Express.
