Dhaka, April 20 -- The suspension of bandwidth supply from the second submarine cable has disrupted internet service in the country from the early hours of Saturday.

The bandwidth supply from the submarine cable, the South East Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 5 (SEA-ME-WE 5) installed in Kuakata, remained suspended due to maintenance works, according to local news portals.

The cable supplies bandwidth worth 1,600 gbps.

However, the supply from the first submarine cable has remained uninterrupted.
