Dhaka, Sept. 24 -- Power department officials disconnected illegal connections in the Hajipara neighbourhood of the capital's Mirpur area on Saturday.

They snapped power lines as four persons died from electrocution on Thursday night while they were walking on the submerged road after rain near Hajipara Commerce College.

The drive was led between 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm. Several police members were present at that time.

An official involved with the process told the FE that they disconnected several lines that were hanging down the wall between Sirajia Islami Madrasa and Mukta Pharmacy.

Besides, illegal lines set up adjacent to Shahjahan Electrics and Electronics in the area were also disconnected.
