Dhaka, Oct. 31 -- The High Court has suspended for three months the activities of the committee formed by the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) to recommend adjustment of natural gas prices at the retail and wholesale levels.

At the same time, the court has questioned the BERC's jurisdiction regarding the formation of the committee.

The High Court bench of Justice Md Mozibur Rahman Miah and Justice Kazi Md Ejarul Haque Akondo passed the order on Monday after the primary hearing on a writ petition filed challenging the jurisdiction of the BERC in forming such a body.
