Dhaka, April 20 -- The government has decided to reopen the educational institutions from April 28, instead of April 21, as severe heat wave sweeps over the country.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) informed the decision in notification on Saturday, local news portals said.

Prof Jafar Ali, director of the Secondary Wing at the directorate, said, "We will keep schools and colleges closed until Apr 27 due to the heat. Classes will resume again on Apr 28."

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education also issued separate notification, delaying opening of all government primary schools across the country for seven days, reports bdnews24.com.
