Dhaka, April 28 -- The government has said it will ensure supply of 13 million sacrificial animals for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha.

"We supplied 12.5 million sacrificial animals during the last Eid-ul-Adha. Out of this, 1.9 million was left unsold. This year, we have arranged to supply 13 million sacrificial animals for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha," Fisheries and Livestock Minister Md Abdur Rahman told reporters at a press briefing at his Bangladesh Secretariat office.

"The festival day is approaching, and a vested quarter that always tries to take unfair advantage might try during this time to divert the situation to their favour/interests," he said.
