Bangladesh, Oct. 21 -- Three members of a family died and three others sustained critical wounds in explosion of gas cylinder of an ambulance in Chattogram last week. At least 18 people suffered burn injuries due to cylinder blast at a hotel in Gazipur last month. At least 10 people reportedly died in accidents related to gas cylinder explosion across the country this year. Use of old and unchecked cylinder is risky and it often causes accidents. Unfortunately, gas cylinders of vehicles were not properly monitored. While users need to check cylinder conditions regularly to avert accident, the government should develop certain mechanism to ensure safety of gas cylinders in future.
