Bangladesh, July 17 -- Students from seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University (DU) on Tuesday staged demonstration blocking the busy Nilkhet-New Market intersection to press home their four-point demand.
Sources said the demonstrating students, most of whom were of the 2017-18 academic year, blocked the intersection from 10 am to 1:30pm and after the assurance of some Dhaka College teachers, they left the street.
The teachers assured the students that they would hold a meeting with DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman immediately to discuss their demands.
The students said if their demands were not met, they would resume their agitation again.
