Bangladesh, Nov. 22 -- Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will conduct a cleanliness drive and destroy larvae at 626 hotspots of Culex mosquito in its 54 wards for 10 days.

DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam inaugurated the drive titled 'Cleanliness for Mosquito Control' at Iqbal Road of the city's Mohammadpur on Thursday.

The mayor warned of taking legal action against the officials concerned of both public and private offices if they fail to keep the ponds, water bodies, swamps and canals clean as per the directives of DNCC.

DNCC has already sent letters to Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (DWASA) and Rajuk in this regard. DNCC will also hold talks with the department heads.
